She is Pretty in Pink!

Hi All, I just wanted to show you a card that I made for a dear friend of mine.  She is a neighbour of mine from when i grew up.  She was like another Mother to me when I was a child and even today, all grown up, I sometimes need her shoulder or ear, like I would need from my own.  Her birthday is this weekend and I wanted to send her a card.  Of course, in Melanie style, tomorrow is a holiday so she won't get it until next week (provided our postal workers continue to be permitted to deliver mail).
I used a Stampalicious stamp for the image and colored it with my Prisma colored pencils and Gamsol.  I glossy accented her glasses and the candles on the cupcake.  The sentiment is from a Hampton Arts birthday set that I have.  I used my top note die from Stampin Up and a Sizzix embossing folder using Pearlized paper in pink.  I tied some Maye Arts sheer ribbon on it and added bling to her earrings and around the sentiment. I rounded the corners with my Corner Chomper.

We will miss you Colleen!

Hi All, another quick post today to show you the card I made for one of my hubby's co-workers that is retiring at the end of this month.  They are throwing her a 'surprize' retirement party on Wednesday after their staff meeting so this had to be done before I went home for the graduation.  It is done on Kraft card stock.  I tea dyed a paper doily and the three symbols are Hampton Arts stamps that I bought at Michaels.  I used seam binding as the ribbon.  I attached a metal embellishment to the card with a Tim Holtz tiny paperclips.

Thanks for your help!

Hi All, here is a quick post.  I am heading home tomorrow for a quick trip to see my nephew graduate from high school.  I needed to find transportation for hubby to get to and from work while I am gone.  One of his co-workers agreed to do this.  I made this card up and enclosed a Tim Horton's gift card for her trouble.  The Image is a Stampers Anonymous stamp, stamped in sepia Versa Fine and clear embossed.  I cut, 'With Gratitude' on my cricut and inked all the edges with Tea Dye Distress Ink.  I roughed up the edges of the card for a vintage feel.  The background paper is a scrap from my stash.

Stampotique Desginer Challenge SDC33

Hi All,
Here is my entry in the Stampotique Designer Challenge SDC33, Use Your Scraps with a Magical Mystery Tour (blog hop).  The theme again was to use what we had on hand....already stamped images, made flowers, embossed pieces...etc....This is a favorite of mine, I like to save the 'skinny' scraps and even have them in their own basket and when the mood strikes, I assemble them in no particular order to make a card...star burst like patterns.  I had this card base already made and in my stash so I just added one of my flowers I made with the Tim Holtz die and some bling.  I had the two doilies in my stash, already cut, as was the sentiment.  The leaves I had cut off some paper sunflowers that I had used for an ATC swap that  I am in, so I had them left over as well...because you never know when you will need random paper leaves.

Stampsmith Challenge # 16

Hi All,
This is a card I made for Stampsmith Challenge #16.  I needed to use a Stampsmith stamp in the challenge and the theme was Friends and Friendship.  Again, I used scraps from my stash (I am a BIG believer of using your scraps).  I stamped the image using Ancient Page chocolate ink.  I wrinkled some seam binding that I had in my stash and the sentiment is from a Stampin Up set.

Graduation Time

Hey All,
A real quick post to show off a project I just finished.  It is a Graduation card of sorts for my nephew that is graduating high school next week.  I was watching a You Tube video by Gale the Happy Stamper.  She made something similar to this for a graduate in her life.  This is my take on it.  I bought the tin at Michaels.  I cut a card to 5X5.  I covered the circumstance of the tin with white card stock and stamped it with dollar stamps that I have picked up at craft stores.  I adhered the card to the top of the tin, mimicking a Graduate cap.  I made a matching brad with my Brad maker and added black ribbon to it as the tassel.

Even Nurses Have Birthdays!

Hi All,
Just a quick post on a card I made for my Step-Mother today.  Her birthday is Monday and her and my Father will be in our area this weekend to celebrate her b-day...and with the postal strike, I thought I would hand deliver my card.  This was a fun card to make.  I colored a Greeting Farm Stamped image (Cheeky Nurse) with my Prisma Colored pencils.  I used a sheet of vintage music paper and inked it up with Tim Holtz, Vintage Photo Distress Ink (I used that color for all of the card except for the image, that was Memento Tuxedo Black Ink).  I adhered the music sheet to some Kraft card stock and curled the edge.  I rounded all the corners on this project.  I used some Bakers Twine to wrap the card in the same color as the shoes and card stock that is mating the image.  I inked up a paper doily and sprayed it all with some homemade glimmer spray.  I added some vintage buttons from my stash.  I have no idea what stamp set the sentiment is from or where I got it from.  I really hope she likes the card.  I really like how this turned out.

A Girl Gotta Have Her Bling!!!

Hi All,
I hope everyone is having a great week and are finally getting some warm summer weather to enjoy.  This afternoon I was puttering in my craft room, trying to be quiet as hubby was asleep across the hall (working an overnight tonight and needed a snooze before he goes in)....soooo paper crafting is out....die cutting and etc can be noisy.  So I pulled out some jewelry findings that I had and some beads that I bought to make swivel clasps for mini albums and made my first pair of earrings....it was sooo fun and quick.  They were easy to make, nothing complicated but I wanted to share them!

Drinks Anyone???

Hi All!!!!
This is a  really quick post on the card I made my Father-In-Law for Father's Day.  Unfortunately, he is yet to receive it as we live in different provinces and we are currently in the middle of a postal strike here in Canada.  Reg loves a cold beer and the funny thing about this is, the character resembles him (Bald, glasses, and a favorite easy chair).  Again It is a Stampalicioius stamp set.  I used scraps from my stash to complete the card and Glossy Accented his eye glasses.  I hope he likes the card (and gets the humour)

Happy Father's Day!

Hi All,
Thanks for dropping in today.  Just a quick post to show off the sign I made for my Father for Father's day.  He and my step Mother have a cottage that they have named, 'The Snuggle Inn', a bit toooo sweet for me, but the name has stuck. My Dad is a man who has everything....so what do you give him, a handmade sign for the cottage...I hope he likes it. I cut the letters out on my Cricut with my Calligraphy cartridge.  The spray is a combination of items I had in my stash.  I simply combined them with floral tape to make a new to me one! the lady bugs and mushroom are wooden pieces that I got at our local Dollarama.  The black butterfly is one that I made when I tried my hand at crocheting.

Happy Father's Day!

Hi All,
I hope everyone is doing great.  This is a quick project that I did this evening while watching tv.  It is a possible Father's Day Card for my Father in Law.  It is also an entry for the Mojo Monday 194 Challenge.  This card is made from scraps from my stash.  I put my new Fiscars dotted line punch to good use as well!! I painted a paper flower that I bought at the Dollar Store and used  a Stampin Up sentiment and punches for the sentiment in the corner.

Get Well Soon!

Hi All!
Here's just a quick card that I made for my Step-Mother last week.  She was been quite sick, a bad cold that she just can't kick.  I made this card for her.  I paper pieced the chair, pjs, and slippers with scraps from my stash.  I used Spellbinder's Labels Eleven to die cut the image.  The sentiment is from Stampin Up.  I believe that the image is from a Scrappy Cats stamp set that I bought recently.
Hope everyone is having a great week!

A mini for a baby shower!

Hi all! It's been a while....hubby brought home a cold for me and I have been sick (again...lol).  The week before last I was invited to a baby shower of a good friend's sister in law.  I decided to make her a mini as her shower gift.  I cut the onsie shape out of box board on my Cricut and most of the shapes came off varies cartridges that I have.  This was difficult to do as I don't have kids so I don't have 'baby or children's cartridges'.  The paper came from a very non traditional paper pack, Song Bird from DCWV.

I am entering this mini into the Stampsmith Challenge # 15.  My friend, Val Wilson, a designer for them suggested this challenge to me.  What better birthday to celebrate then the first one, a child's Birth! This mini was completed for just this reason.
Here are some pics!
