Thanks for Your Support!

My husband's team at work have started a staff appreciation program at work and he nicely volunteered me to make the cards that go to the staff that is chosen every month...lol....I really don't mind. The first two that were chosen were their eveing supervisors for all their support over a very difficult time. Here are the cards that I made...not very creative this week, still not feeling the best. One is my take on a card that my friend Val made and the other is a take on a card I did in a class last year.

Altered Box and Mother's Day Mini

This is a project that I made for my Mother in Law for Mother's Day. I know it is past Mother's day but we haven't seen her yet, she lives in New Brunswick. Jim and I got married last summer and we have never done off some pictures of the wedding as of yet. So....I thought a great Mother's Day gift would be a brag book for her to look through. It is very basic as she is not crafty at all but will appreciate the gesture and the pictures!!!!!

Recycled Challenge!

Hi Everyone, it is another rainy day here....this is three weeks of rain for us, I swear I think we are going to get moldy.

My friend Val mentioned a Recycling challange that Stampotique Designers Challenge is hosting. It is any stamp and the project is to repurpose items that were headed to our landfill. This is my take on that. I used a recycled box, newspaper, paper bag, bottle cap, ribbon from a package, and a flower that was adhered to paperwork from my hubbies last staff meeting. This stamped image is 'recycled' as well...it mimics old paperwork or a postal markings. I used Memonto ink and Tea Stained Tim Holtz Distress Ink. I cut the tag out with Tim's # 8 tag die.

A Cool and Dreary Day

Hi All,

A quick post with a card I made up this morning. It is a cool day here, damp and dreary. I needed something to cheer me up. This little Magnolia Stamp was me trying my hand with my Copics. It is 'OK' to say the least...lol....I stitched the card with my WAMK Sew Easy and Cross Stitch floss, some scrap ribbon and a birthday sentiment from Inkadinkado stamp set that Michaels had on clearance several weeks back. I finished the card with some purple Scribbles (dimensional paint).

This card brightened up a dreary day.

Missing a Friend

I am not good with good byes. I have a tendency to avoid the person that is leaving...I know that is terrible but it is true. I can chat on the phone, text, message, email but face to face is a no go. So, when my friend told me several weeks ago that her husband was being transferred to Quebec, I was devastated, to say the least. Though we haven't been friends for years, we have become very close. I decided that I wouldn't do my normal 'thing' and avoid her.....it was hard, especially the last week but I 'sucked it up' and was a 'big girl'...lol.....I said good bye to her (face to face) on Friday and gave her a card I made her.

This is the card, very simple with some brown satin ribbon and butterflies cut out of Kraft card stock.

It was hard to see her leave.

Miss you Kim :(

Fashion Lives On!

A quick card I did last night. I used a new La Blanche stamp (flourish) and a wonderful dress form stamp I bought a few months ago and NEVER used ( I know we ALL have items in our stash like that). The sentiment was a Hampton Arts stamp I bought last year at Michael's.

The brown satin ribbon is something my Step-Mother saved me off a set of throw pillows she bought. It is on shimmer brown card stock and Sepia Versa Fine ink. I spritzed the card with sheer Shimmer Spritz to finish it off.

I hope you like it!

A Girl's Night Out.

I did this card in a class a few weeks ago but it was a baby card, light colors, teddy bears, onesies, etc....since I am 'sans' children, I thought this would be a hot card for a girlfriend. I used black card stock and a left over scrap of paper from the RockStar collection from DCWV (the lips). The lingerie was a stamp I got ages ago. I simply stamped it and cut out the individual pieces. I used Sharpie Markers to color in the items. I punched the stilettos with an EK Success punch I have had for ages. The dress was a pattern from another card. I cut it out in pink satin paper and covered it with some fabic and colored the flowers on it with the Sharpie so it would match. I finished it off with a flat back pearl for a drawer pull.

I hope you like it!
